Register now for the 14th annual Bay to Ocean Writers Conference, to be held all day Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Chesapeake College, in Wye Mills, MD.
The event has sold out in advance for the past five years. Advance registration is required. Registrations will be accepted by February 19. The registration form can be downloaded from the website: www.baytoocean.com.
About 200 writers, of all levels, will have a unique opportunity to select up to five workshops and programs from 24 different sessions presented by experienced writing instructors, authors, poets, film writers, freelance writers, editors, and publishers. Some are workshop leaders at The Writer's Center, in Bethesda. Sessions are in comfortable, new classrooms at Chesapeake College.
Several themes dominate this year’s conference including the craft of writing fiction, nonfiction and poetry, novels, children’s writing, retreats, publishing, marketing, writing for business and nonprofits, the Internet and a session on the future of journalism. Expert one-to-one manuscript reviews are offered for an additional fee of $45 each, for registered attendees (by Jan. 15, see website for details). A conference bookstore will include speakers’ books for sale.
The cost for the 2011 Bay to Ocean Writers Conference is $89 for adults and $55 for students (with ID). The fee includes a continental breakfast, all sessions, refreshments, a networking lunch and bookstore.
The program is sponsored by the Eastern Shore Writers’ Association (http://www.easternshorewriters.org/), a nonprofit organization supporting writers and the literary arts across the Delmarva Peninsula region.
